New Happenings

Well, we are officially almost done with day number 3 of the New Year. Lots of stuff has been going on since last year. First off New Year's day we spent with the in-laws having Prime Rib. It's our oh great the holidays are over but don't slow down yet because on to birthday season we go. You see our family has about 5-6 birthdays in January. My birthday, yesterday, is the starter of our little runner. We actually celebrated the failure of my 29th year must do over again before I graduate to that nasty 30 number the last Friday of December so my mother could be there. But, we just had family and a couple of friends over for hubby's Tri-Tip and Scallopped Potatoes (compliments of my wonderful mother-in-law.) It seams to be easier to talk about being 30 now that the whole party thing is done with. They did have some very lovely black balloons and crepe paper. It did tons for the decor. (please note the sarcasism) On my actual birthday we went out to eat at Outback. The Crowned Victoria Filet with horseradish crust was my choice. Yum Yum. But also last night we went to check out a local wrestling club for the boys. Yeah!!! They, even with the difference of 7 years in age, can be in the same club!! Which works awesome. Exactly what we wanted. Teenager's shoes still fit from last year but the Huba needed shoes. So we also picked him a pair on our way to Outback. Tonight was the first night of practice. With Teenager's previous experience in the sport he fell right into ranks and did great. Huba..... is highly motivated. A+ for effort and determination. I could tell by his flushed little face that he was getting tuckered out after the first 20 minutes. Even though practice was two hours, yep you read it right, he hung in there and did awesome. He's focusing on staying in stance and shooting. I'm really excited for all of us on the deal. Lots of exercise for the boys (work off a little of the tv), self discipline, respect, etc. Darling husband used to wrestle so I'm seeing a twinkle in his eyes. Oh and did I mention two hours of guilt free knitting a night because I have to go to watch practice. It's expected of me. Isn't it marvelous how that worked out?!? Update on my Drops sweater. I'm ready to start binding off on sleeve number 1. I cheated when doing my gauge swatch by casting on for the sleeve. I guess it really isn't cheating because if I hadn't of gotten gauge on the first one I would of tore it out. Luckily got it on the first try. But, now the boys are in bed, hubby is studying for his next board exam, and my needles are calling my name.

oh by the way,
I did cut out 20 minutes of knitting in the morning (prior to going to work) for a little Yoga action. Hopefully it will help with the upper back stiffness I get from knitting in bed at night.
