Packwood Motivation

Okay so all but 2 of us 9 girls all wore their hand knitted socks in Packwood this past weekend. Those of us who weren't wearing our socks had made socks before. But we always gave them to other people. Therefore when we went to pack… there was no handknit socks to be taken. Everyone was wearing their beautiful socks and here I sat with my Costco Champion ankle socks. Heck, Nancy (yes I'm namin names) at least had colorful cartoon socks on that got wonderful comments. The guilt, the agony, the torture. I felt like a muggle, non knitter. Even though I did show up in my hand made sweater I did feel like a muggle, a sock muggle. Not that anyone made me feel that way. Sure their were jokes about it being a requirement and all. But nothing but playful harassment. It was more of a jealousy. I was envious of their feet their toes sitting their in hand knitted socks made out of natural fibers in wonderful colors and designs. Now, my costco champion socks were styling. White with lime green toe and heel. Very cool. But they weren't art. So what to do in this situation I asked myself? How do I get this sluggish feeling out of me, keep in mind that I was feeling in my toes. This meant immediate action had to be taken. So what did I do?
I pulled out a half knitted Cherry Tree Hill sock. Figured out what needles I was using as they were on stitch holders (thanks to all my pals for their expertise) and went to knitting. I may not have some on my feet but i was then not without. I finished the sock this evening after work. And am going to cast on for sock 2 before bed. Next year, I won't be without my hand knitted socks......ON MY FEET!
