Yesterday's Post~ Montana Vacation ~ Day 2

Yesterday the family split up for the majority of the day. Hubby took the boys to Leslie Lake fishing. It’s about five miles past the ghost town of Elkhorn. They took the ATV’s and Huba rode his motorcycle. It’s a pretty intense ride and I guess that Huba crashed quite a bit. I wasn’t with them so he just stood his bike back up and got one. I stayed with my mother and niece and went to the family cabin. We did a little grounds. I had forgotten how much work it took to mow the side of a mountain. Also the cedar lattice work on the porch had seen better days so that got removed also. My mother and I also worked on a dress for my niece. No pattern but a model! It’s right up there with a pattern and no model. Luckily she’s just four so the sundress was rather easy. I still have to stitch the straps in place. Also, I’m making myself a matching skirt. And of course we are going to wear them on the same day! I think. I did finish sleeve number 1 for my surprise project. I ended up starting it over about 4 times. The thing was that it wanted my undivided attention and wasn’t going to let me visit and work on the lace portion at the same time. The boys got home from their adventure in time to eat. And boy did they eat and eat. After dinner we took them down to the local swimming hole on the Boulder River. It’s really cool the see the boys enjoy the same stuff that I did when I was a kid. The water was really cold…. I did not get in! Later that evening Hubby and I went to a different section of the Boulder River fly fishing. Yeah, it doesn’t work to good when you only have about two feet of leader left. So I spent the majority of the time replacing my leader and trying to tie on a new fly right at dark. Monday….. Off to Lewis and Clark Caverns and a Local Yarn Store!

Your vacation sounds like it's wonderful. Fly fishing is hard... I'm still at the bobber stage of fishing even after all of these years. I hope you find some great buys at the LYS.
