Cutting the Tree

As children, DH and I never purchased a tree from a tree lot. But, our children had never actually went to the National Forest and cut a tree.


So, we purchased our permit (that was something new to me) and headed to the Umatilla National Forest.
But a $5 permit vs a $400 fine was a no brainer.









The boys stood still long enough for one pose together with OUR TREE.
Just like hunting season holding the tag while Dad cut out the dates is a very important job. And you really need to trust dad..... he might slip with the knife.
