Just another Monday~But a pretty cool weekend

I agree with KITKATKNIT. It was an extremely hot weekend around here. Too hot! Friday night I snuck off to Friday Night Knit Night. KITKATKNIT's knitting husband was singing his Ruby Ruby song. So I had to share the Skeeter song that my darling nonknitting husband sang at Bull Prairie. Sorry Pirate Dave…. My hubby lied to me and the boys when he said there was more versus to the naughty song. The promise of you'll get the next verse on our next camping trip was to make the teenagers think that Dad was really cool. The lyrics of the song are not quite appropriate for blogging. Or should I say…hubby won't sing anymore if I publish. Saturday was a day of Graduation. My oldest nephew graduated. Now it’s going to be a downward spiral of cards with fat checks. The ceremony was very long. An hour and a half for 17 graduates. Yes you read that right 17 graduates. It was 98 degrees outside and the gym had no air conditioning. Even with a white cotton skirt on it was smelly. The nephew has plans to go to welding school beginning in the fall. Nephew lives about an hour away so I did get to work on the sock to and from.
On Sunday I found myself sitting out at the range. Yep just call me Annie Oakley. It’s been about two years since I’ve shot. I actually really enjoyed myself and am seriously considering about going more often. That is if the boys will let me. Hey, I wash their socks and underwear. They better. I did get all 4 shots within an inch and half group. I don’t think it was too shabby for not shooting for a year and seriously needing a new eye exam. Huba, though, got a little cocky and told me that it was pure luck. I guess that means I’ll just have to go again to show him it wasn’t pure luck. There will be none of that, “Mom can’t do it cuz she’s a girl.”
Both of these sock photos or from when we went to Bull Prairie. The blue one is done with Art yarns (and I don’t know the color way…lost the label) and it the Openwork pattern from Sensational Knitted Socks book 1. The other sock is a Lavender Sheep hand dyed yarn with Heirloom Argyle for the ribbing, heel, and toe. I’m using the first row of the Small Tiles Pattern from the second Sensational Knitted Socks book. I should have it finished tonight as I’m almost ready to start the toe.

Congratulations to your nephew! Mine is graduating on Sunday so I can relate to the card and big fat check scenerio. I've not fired a gun since I was in the Air National Guard... about 8 years ago. If someone were to break into our house I'd be better off just trying to beat them with a rifle than trying to actually shoot something out of the end with hopes of hitting them. The sock looks great.
